The edit in Microsoft Word Connector allows you to directly open a Jahia container in MS Word, to edit it from within MS Word and to save it back in the Jahia Server. Such a tool allows you to benefit from all the edition features provided with MS Word.
How to install the Beta version:
1) Install the .Net utilities. Please follow the instructions described on this document in order to install and correctly setup the required Microsoft libraries.
2) download the following ZIP file and uncompress it in your C:\ drive (for the moment the path is hardcoded to your "c:\editinword" directory, so please be sure to verify that the directory is correctly created at the right place).
3) Install an alpha version of Jahia 5.1. This connector only works with the HEAD version of Jahia. You can download a nightly build of the HEAD version here: http://nightly.jahia.org/jahia5.1/current/ . Once installed modify your jahia.property file in order to activate the MSWord Connector and then restart your Jahia server.
That's it: Once your Jahia server restarted, you will be able to directly open your containers in MS Word from any Jahia container (a new Word icon should appear in your Jahia's action menu).
